Material Improvement

The design material of the original sprocket is 40Cr, the overall quenching and tempering hardness is hb220 ~ 250, and the tooth quenching is hrc48 ~ 52. This method can not improve the wear resistance of sprocket basically because of the limited hardness of tooth quenching. It is suggested that the sprocket material should be changed to 20CrMnTi, carburized and quenched. The hardness of the chain socket can reach more than HRC60, and its wear resistance is more than 2.5 times that of 40Cr material. In this way, the service life of the sprocket can be greatly improved, the frequency of machine repair can be reduced, the productivity can be improved, and the production cost can be reduced;

Finish Machining

The shape of the original sprocket socket is forged directly, which has large dimensional error, rough surface and low wear resistance. With the wide application of CNC machine tools and the reduction of processing costs, it is suggested to leave a little margin after forging and finish machining by numerical milling, so as to improve the dimensional accuracy and surface roughness, so as to improve the wear resistance.
